WPP Fellowship 2019/2020

The WPP Fellowship was created in 1995 to recruit and develop future leaders for WPP and its operating companies. Since its inception, more than 200 Fellows have been hired, more than half of whom remain with WPP – in senior positions, across a range of marketing communications disciplines, all over the world.

As the great Wayne Gretzky once said of ice hockey, the secret is to skate to where the puck is going to be; the same is true for the Fellowship. The people we hire must develop into the kind of leaders our businesses will need in the future, and this is constantly changing.

Our industry is transforming rapidly, and we want to lead that transformation, not react to it. In that spirit, we are re-engineering and expanding the Fellowship to reflect the changing needs of WPP and our clients. The aim is to extend the scheme across more markets, broaden its already diverse profile, attract candidates from an even wider range of social, cultural and economic backgrounds, and encompass a greater number of skills.

As we reshape the program, we want to focus our attention on existing Fellows, and not be distracted by the demands of a lengthy recruitment season. We will therefore not recruit new Fellows for 2019. To use a tried and tested advertising phrase, we will present a new and improved Fellowship to candidates for the 2020 intake.

In the meantime, our operating companies will continue with their own excellent graduate recruitment programs, which we encourage you to explore directly with those companies.

The long lead times of certain graduate publications mean that one or two of them still carry advertising for the 2019 Fellowship intake. We apologize for the confusion, and to all those people who had hoped to apply for the Fellowship in 2019. If you can wait for another year (perhaps gaining relevant experience), we look forward to hearing from you when our 2020 recruitment window opens.

WPP is also reviewing its MBA Fellowship program and is therefore not recruiting for the 2019 intake. This does not affect anyone currently in the program or the new cohort joining in September this year.
