The Internets of Rural Agriculture - the How's and Why's
The internet is increasingly changing the West African lived experience, yet it seems that its reach has been limited to its cities and urban areas. With the huge impact the internet has made on connectivity and development, and the potential to transform agriculture, we need to quickly think of ways to empower rural smallholder farmers with internet access and knowledge. Failure to do this will not only result in widened inequality gap, but also poses a food security risk and fewer chances of attaining real economic development.
This discussion will seek answers to how private stakeholders can contribute to facilitating the inclusion of rural agricultural players in the internet boom that their urban counterparts benefit from.
